Project outline

  • Deliverables

    • We will code an interactive block containing 3 image/text “click to reveal” elements, using CSS3 animation techniques.
    • The functionality will rely on CSS code added to the head section of the campaign HTML, so the block cannot be stored in custom building blocks or dragged into another template or campaign.
    • The content of the block cannot be edited in the EasyEditor. Text and image file URLs etc can only be updated via the HTML source code.

     

    Support on different email clients

    • The interactive elements are mostly well supported on iOS mail app and Apple mail on desktop.
    • Fallbacks will be built into the code, however these cannot be guaranteed to work on all email clients. Challenges include:
      • Gmail app when used with a non-Gmail address (certain code is not supported here)
      • Outlook app (support has historically varied a great deal on different versions of the app)
      • Certain Android email clients such as the mail app on some Samsung devices (CSS3 and fallbacks are not always consistently supported across all Android email clients)

     

    Testing and ongoing support

    • We will endeavour to test the block across as many live email clients as possible. Please note however that we are unable to test to every possible device and email client, and our usual inbox testing service will only display a static preview and therefore cannot be relied upon for testing the functionality.
    • The Support team cannot help troubleshoot or solve any problems which might arise in future when email clients or devices are updated, or if the code is amended by anyone after the project has been signed off.

    The work described hereunder must be redeemed within 12 months from purchase, on a date and time to be agreed with Dotdigital. Unless due to the availability of Dotdigital, any failure to instruct Dotdigital to commence or agree the work described (in whole or in part) will result in forfeiture of the entirety of the fee and no credits or refunds, pro rata or otherwise, will be provided.
