Cost: 30 Credits
Overview
The Personalization Services team will build a custom subscription and coupon experience using three connected personalization elements:
- Banner Block - Controls the visitor-facing messaging and display states.
- Coupon Block - Retrieves and stores the visitor's unique coupon code, ensuring the same code is shown on subsequent visits.
- Data Capture Block - Handles email capture and subscription submission.
Together, these elements will deliver a seamless subscription journey while ensuring visitors receive a consistent coupon code experience across sessions.
Functional Requirements
Banner Block
A persistent banner will be displayed at the top of the page and will have two states:
Pre-subscription
- Displays promotional messaging encouraging the visitor to subscribe.
- Clicking the banner opens the subscription pop-up.
Post-subscription
- Displays a thank-you message.
- Displays the visitor's unique discount code.
- Includes click-to-copy functionality for the coupon code.
The banner state will be determined by the visitor's subscription status stored in browser storage.
Data Capture Block
The data capture block will be displayed as a pop-up modal.
Triggers
- User clicks the persistent banner.
- Exit-intent trigger when the visitor moves their cursor towards the top of the browser window.
Behaviour
- Prompts the visitor to enter their email address and subscribe.
- On successful submission:
- Stores the subscription status in browser storage.
- Triggers coupon retrieval through the coupon block.
- Displays the coupon code to the visitor.
The pop-up will not be shown again once a visitor has successfully subscribed on that browser.
Coupon Block
The coupon block will manage retrieval and persistence of the discount code.
Behaviour
- Fetches a unique coupon code following a successful subscription.
Stores the coupon code in browser storage. - Returns the stored coupon code on future visits to ensure the same code is always displayed.
- Provides the coupon code to both the data capture block and the banner block.
This approach prevents new codes from being generated for returning visitors and guarantees a consistent experience.
